After the press conference on 23 April 2009, Mr. Kong Sam Onn, a lawyer representing MP Mu Sochua in her defamation against Prime Minister Hun Sen could be suspended from his legal professional if the Bar Association of the kingdom of Cambodia will find him guilty on violation of the code of ethics for lawyer. On 30 April 2009, Mr. Ky Tech who was a former president of the Bar Association and now Hun Sen’s lawyer filed a complaint with the Bar Association against Mu Sochua’s lawyer, Kong Sam Onn, accusing him of violating the lawyer’s code of ethic in this case. Until now (6 May) the case is under investigation by Association is investigating. The president of the Bar, Mr. Chiv Senghak said that if the Bar’s Disciplinary Council found guilty, Kong Sam Onn will be punished 3 things, could receive a warning, have his license suspended, or be debarred as a legal professional altogether.
