Ngek Bunchai Reacted against Soy Sopheap over Comment

In mid march 2009, Nhiek Bun Chhay, Funcipec Secretary General said he would hold a demonstration in front of CTN headquarters in Phnom Penh in order to fight against a television commentator Soy Sopheap who had criticized the Funcipec Party. The set for demonstration occurred after Soy Sopheap had spoken in a political show, “Thursday Talk” on 12 March 2009. During the talk, Mr. Nhiek Bun Chhay found that Mr. Soy Sopheap was trying to criticize the party relating to holding vote swearing ceremonies for their party. The demonstration was set up to be against Soy Sopheap who was accused of criticizing the royalist party, the incitement between the Funcipec Party and the Cambodian People party (CPP) and calling for member of commune councils should defect to CPP. However the plan of demonstration led by Nhek Bun Chhay was cancelled without any reasons.
