Kong Sam Onn, Hua Lawyer Faced Bar Inspection

After the press conference on 23 April 2009, Mr. Kong Sam Onn, a lawyer representing MP Mu Sochua in her defamation against Prime Minister Hun Sen could be suspended from his legal professional if the Bar Association of the kingdom of Cambodia will find him guilty on violation of the code of ethics for lawyer.

Kampot Sam Rainsy Party lawmaker, Mu Sochua said on April 23, 2009 she would file a complaint against Prime Minister Hun Sen, who she accused of defaming her. For this lawsuit, she only asked for 500 riel note from the primer.

On June 3, 2009 Hong Chakra, Khmer Mchas Srok publisher was summoned by Municipal Prosecutor Sok Roeun to clarify about his articles published 5-7 April 2009, “Hun Sen Broke Bad and Corruptive Ministers around Sok An” and “Pro-Sok An Minister Faced Dismissed from Position”, which published May 2. His articles received lawsuit from the government’s lawyer to accuse him of disinformation.

Ngek Bunchai Reacted against Soy Sopheap over Comment

In mid march 2009, Nhiek Bun Chhay, Funcipec Secretary General said he would hold a demonstration in front of CTN headquarters in Phnom Penh in order to fight against a television commentator Soy Sopheap who had criticized the Funcipec Party.
